Mark Sheppard

Mark Sheppard is a seasoned exploration geologist with extensive experience in the mining and geoscience sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Exploration Geologist at South32 since November 2021, Mark has also held significant positions such as Principal Geoscientist at Geochem Solutions Pty Ltd since July 1999, and previous roles including Senior Exploration Geologist at Map To Mine Pty Ltd for South32 and Senior Geologist at Map to Mine for Pursuit Minerals. With a Master’s degree in Ore Deposit Models and Evaluation from The University of Western Australia and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Geography from James Cook University, Mark has demonstrated expertise in exploration, project management, and geochemistry throughout a career that spans several decades and multiple organizations.
