Michael Calitz is an experienced Maintenance Millwright with a career spanning over 20 years in the mining and industrial sectors. Since March 2015, Michael has been employed at South32, focusing on maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, including conveyor belts and crushers. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Millwright at African Minerals from June 2013 to February 2015, where responsibilities included machine maintenance and fault finding on electrical systems. Michael also gained valuable experience at BHP Billiton from October 2008 to February 2013, performing similar maintenance duties, and at Richards Bay Coal Terminal from April 2003 to September 2008, where the focus was on hydraulic equipment and conveyor systems. Michael holds a National Diploma in Mechanical obtained from Richtek College between 2004 and 2005, and completed secondary education at Richards Bay High School from 1995 to 1999.
