John Porter, MBA, EIT, currently serves as the Solar Operations Asset Manager at Southern Power, where responsibilities encompass managing the daily operations and maintenance of the solar fleet. Previously, Porter worked as a Project Development Engineer, overseeing project development and acquisitions, including due diligence, risk assessment, and contract negotiation. Prior experience includes an Environmental Affairs Internship at Southern Company, where Porter contributed to major environmental projects, enhanced efficiency in reporting, and collaborated on data validation and environmental policies. Porter also has a background in coaching as Head and Assistant Swim Coach at Burnt Hickory Lakes Swim Team.
