The utility industry's trusted partner since 1982.

Southern Switch and Contacts was founded in Palm Harbor, Florida with a single focus: supplying the electric utility industry with quality components. More than 40 years later, that focus hasn't changed. We've added field services and full breaker remanufacture. Three divisions, one company. We make it. We service it. We rebuild it. Serving investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and rural electric cooperatives across Florida and the Southeast, with components shipped nationwide.

Machine Shop Division: precision fabrication of utility components since 1982. Switch contacts, transformer hardware, LTC parts, circuit breaker components, switch bearing refurbishment. Brands routinely serviced include McGraw-Edison (550B, 550C), Southern States (EV2 rotating bearings), Joslyn, Viton seals, and Mobil XHP222 grease.

Field Services Division: launched in 2017 after customers kept asking, "Can you send someone to install these?" Substation technicians for new construction, scheduled maintenance, switch repair, transformer processing, testing and diagnostics, and 24/7 emergency response.

Breaker Rebuild Division: full shop remanufacture of air, vacuum, oil, and SF6 breakers. Torn down, reconditioned to OEM spec, tested, and documented. Mechanism overhaul, life extension, solid-state trip retrofit, one-year warranty.

Parts, field service, and full rebuild from one call. Built exclusively for utilities, not general industry. Lead times: 5 to 10 days standard, 2 to 4 days rush, same-day machining for outages. FMEA Member and Approved Vendor. U.S. Patent Holder (UGOR). Made in USA, Buy American Act Compliant.
