Robert Bugbee

Robert Bugbee currently serves as the Group Chief Credit Officer at SouthState Bank, a position held since March 2022. Prior to this role, Robert Bugbee worked at Atlantic Capital Bank since November 2006, where responsibilities included overseeing credit, market, and operating risks as the Chief Credit Officer, and serving as a Senior Vice President focused on corporate and commercial banking. Before Atlantic Capital Bank, Robert Bugbee spent nearly two decades at SunTrust Bank, culminating in a position as Director within the Corporate and Investment Banking group. Additionally, Robert Bugbee managed SunTrust Bank’s Credit Department and was involved in commercial lending in the Atlanta market. Educational credentials include an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business and a BA in Economics from Cornell University.
