Steve Wetzel

Steve Wetzel has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Their most recent role is as the Principal Applications Engineer at Southwire Company, where they started in January 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Product Engineer at Southwire Company from April 2015 to January 2020.

Before joining Southwire, Steve worked at General Cable from 2009 to 2015, where they had various roles such as Advanced Engineer for Mining and VFD Products, Advanced Engineer for Mining and LV Products, and Applications Engineer.

Prior to their time at General Cable, Steve worked at Consero from 2004 to 2009 as a Sales Engineer, responsible for the western US and Canada crane and special electrical cables sales.

Steve also has experience working at Pirelli Cables as a Sales Engineering Manager from 2000 to 2004, and at PIRELLI CABLES AND SYSTEMS as a District Sales Manager in 1999.

Before that, Steve worked at Siemens Power Cables as a Regional Sales Engineer from 1997 to 1999, and at Siemens as a Sales Engineer from 1996 to 1999.

Steve started their career at GEOTEST INC as a Regional Sales Manager from 1996 to 1997, and at The Computer Plus as a System Consultant from 1994 to 1995.

Prior to that, they worked at Shared Medical Services as the Director of Marketing from 1993 to 1994.

Steve Wetzel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982. Prior to that, they attended Lodi High School. Steve later pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they obtained another Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Engineering. In 2016, Steve obtained a certification in "OmniFocus for Mac Essential Training" from Lynda.com.
