Cem Özer is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in blockchain and software development. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Sovereign Labs since March 2022, Cem previously held advisory and co-founding roles at Plaintext Capital from June 2021 to April 2023. As part of the PegaSys Protocol Engineering team from February 2019 to February 2021, Cem contributed to the Ethereum ecosystem as an Ethereum Core Developer, focusing on productionizing the Ethereum consensus client Teku and launching the Ethereum Beacon Chain in December 2020. Cem holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University and is a graduate of VKV Koç High School.
