David Chan is an experienced product manager with a strong background in data science and project management. Currently serving as a Product Manager at SOVRA since December 2025, David previously held several key roles at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, including Product Lead for the Industry Stream and Managing Director of Projects from October 2019 to December 2025. Prior to that, David worked at Cybera Inc from 2012 to October 2019 as a Data Scientist and Project Manager. David's early career includes experience as an Assistant Language Teacher with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program and a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. David holds a Ph.D. and a BSc in Biochemistry, both from the University of Calgary, completing the latter in 2003 and the former in 2009.
