Jack Xia, Ph.D.

Jack Xia, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the insurance and insurtech industry. Jack began their career as an Actuarial Analyst at Munich Re (Group), where they developed a SQL based insurance data management system and created policy and portfolio projection models. In 2016, they joined Axinan as a Chief Actuary, leading the development of innovative insurtech products. During their time at Axinan, they introduced the idea of transit insurance to Indonesia's Leading Ecommerce, launched the first cross-border transit insurance to 3 continents, and developed the first phone screen protection app with patented technology, among other achievements. In 2019, they took on the role of Director at Axinan Labuan, a subsidiary of Axinan. In this role, they obtained a combined general and reinsurance license from Labuan FSA, allowing the company to underwrite general and reinsurance risks. With their expertise in insurtech and deep understanding of the insurance industry, Jack Xia is a valuable asset to any organization in the field.

Jack Xia, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from Nanyang Technological University Singapore in the years 2006 to 2010. Jack then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics from the same university, completing it from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Jack Xia has also obtained several certifications. Jack completed the "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Deep Dive," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Infrastructure," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Opportunities and Risks," "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Opportunities and Risks specialization," and "Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Primitives" certifications from Duke University in April 2022.

Jack Xia has also acquired certifications from Google, including "Foundations of Project Management," "Project Initiation: Start a Successful Project," "Project Planning: Putting It All Together," "Hands-On Labs in Google Cloud for Security Engineers," "Managing Security in Google Cloud Platform," "Mitigating Security Vulnerabilities on Google Cloud Platform," "Preparing for Google Cloud Certification: Cloud Security Engineer Specialization," and "Security Best Practices in Google Cloud." These certifications were obtained between 2021 and 2022.

Furthermore, Jack Xia has completed the "Introduction to Environmental Law and Policy" course from Coursera in October 2020. Jack has also obtained certifications from Google in the field of Kubernetes, including "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Production," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Workloads," and "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Foundations." These certifications were obtained in 2020.

Additionally, Jack Xia has completed the "Application of AI, InsurTech, and Real Estate Technology" and "COVID-19 Contact Tracing" courses from Coursera in 2020.
