Aries Poon

Aries Poon is currently the Director and Head of Asia-Pacific & Latin America Analysis in Economics & Country Risk at S&P Global Market Intelligence. They have previously held various roles, including News Desk Manager for Asia-Pacific Financial Institutions Group and Hong Kong Bureau Chief at S&P Global, where they enhanced team visibility and collaborated across sectors. Aries has a background in journalism, having served as a financial reporter and host at Hong Kong Cable Television Limited, and as a finance editor at Caixin Global. They also have experience in public policy from their time as a Master of Public Policy summer placement at The Behavioural Insights Team and an academic role as a lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Aries earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford.
