Joyce Salisbury is an accomplished author and lecturer with extensive experience in education and writing. Currently, Salisbury serves as an author and lecturer at The Great Courses, working on a 24-lecture series on The History of Spain set for the 2017 catalog. At Johns Hopkins University Press, Salisbury authored "Rome's Christian Empress: Galla Placidia Rules at the Twilight of the Empire." Lectures are offered periodically on educational voyages with Voyages to Antiquity. As Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, Salisbury is set to teach on the Semester at Sea program. Additionally, revisions are underway for the Western Civilization textbook "The West in the World," co-authored with Professor Dennis Sherman, published by McGraw-Hill. Other notable engagements include lecturing on the Island Sky and serving on the Board of the Wisconsin Humanities Council. Salisbury holds a PhD in History from Rutgers University.
