Nancy Gardner

Nancy Gardner is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the finance and compliance sectors. Currently serving as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at S&P Global Ratings since May 2018, Nancy has been with the organization since October 2015. Notably, Nancy held the position of Chief Compliance Officer at S&P Capital IQ and SNL Financial for a brief period in 2015. Prior to that, Nancy was the General Counsel at SL-x, where leadership was provided for a pioneering trading platform until its closure in 2014. Nancy's significant tenure at Thomson Reuters from 1995 to 2012 included various senior roles such as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for the Markets Division, with oversight of legal and compliance functions. Nancy began legal career as a Corporate Attorney at Weil Gotshal and Manges. Educational achievements include a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Duke University.
