Paul Smith is the Director of Economic Indicators & Surveys at S&P Global, where they lead product operations for the Economics & Country Risk practice. With twenty years of experience as an economist, Paul has specialized in PMI surveys and house price index construction, notably developing the new methodology for the Halifax House Price Index released in 2019. They completed their PhD at the University of Strathclyde in 2016 and share insights on economics through the Economics and Country Risk podcast. Prior to S&P Global, Paul served as Director of Economic Indices at IHS Markit from 2002 to 2022.
