Anthony Townsend

Anthony Townsend currently serves as a Nuclear & CWMD Fellow at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. since August 2023. With over two decades of military experience, Townsend has held various leadership roles within the US Army, including active-duty officer and Theater Nuclear Planner at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, where strategic nuclear and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) planning support is provided, particularly for STRATCOM. Previous positions include Army G2 Watch Officer overseeing threat intelligence and Operations Officer for the Eighth Army. Education includes an upcoming Master of Science in Transformational Leadership from the University of Maryland and attendance at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Notably, Townsend was recognized among the top 2% of students at the Command and General Staff College for excellence in a graduate-level program.
