Daniel Horner

Lead Data Scientist at SPA

Daniel Horner has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities.

From 2019 to the present, they have been working as the Lead Data Scientist at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. Prior to this, from 2013 to 2019, they held multiple roles at Veracity Forecasting Group, including Lead Data Scientist and Data Science Vice President.

Before their tenure at Veracity, from 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Research Scientist at CNA, where they focused on providing insights in naval aviation.

Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they collaborated on multiple physical science projects and contributed to solving research problems of national importance.

From 2004 to 2006, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where they combined formal theory and high-performance computing for investigating double photoionization of small molecules.

Daniel Horner completed their Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction in Physics at Boston University from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, Daniel has completed various certifications, including "AI for Science on Supercomputers" from Argonne National Laboratory in December 2022, "Genome Sequencing (Bioinformatics II) (with Honors)" from Coursera in October 2021, and "Finding Hidden Messages in DNA (Bioinformatics I) (with Honors)" from Coursera in September 2021. Daniel has also completed multiple certifications related to data science and machine learning from Coursera between 2019 and 2022.
