Roy Shortt

Roy Shortt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Roy is currently employed as a Senior Operations Research Analyst at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at LMI from December 2019 to November 2021 as a Senior Operations Research Analyst, where they developed simulations and performed analysis on Air Force data.

Before joining LMI, Roy was a Systems Engineer at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. from October 2015 to December 2019. In this role, they developed models and simulations for complex systems, integrated multidisciplinary design optimization problems, and created agent-based models for naval fleet operations.

Roy also has experience in the US Army. Roy served as a Battalion Human Resources Officer from July 2014 to September 2015, and as a Battalion Assistant Operations Officer from January 2014 to July 2014. Additionally, they were a Company Executive Officer for the United Nations Command Honor Guard Company from September 2013 to January 2014, and a Company Executive Officer from November 2012 to September 2013.

Prior to their Army service, Roy was a Platoon Leader in the US Army from March 2012 to September 2012. Roy was responsible for overseeing the training and welfare of soldiers and the maintenance of equipment. Roy also studied US Army tactics and management practices as a student at the US Armor School from July 2011 to March 2012.

Roy's career started in the Army National Guard, where they served as a Platoon Leader from May 2009 to July 2011.

Roy Shortt obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in General Studies from Marion Military Institute in the years 2007 to 2009. Roy then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 2009 to 2011. Afterward, they attended The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Systems Engineering from 2015 to 2018. In August 2017, Roy Shortt obtained the Associate Systems Engineering Professional certification from INCOSE.
