Cross Domain Warfare Analysis Group Leader & Principal Analyst at SPA

Stanley Robertson has extensive work experience in various roles related to maritime technology and submarine operations. Stanley began their career in 1986 as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy and served in this role until 2001. In 2001, they joined the Office of the Secretary of Defense as an Operations and Budget Analyst, where they evaluated the Navy budget for undersea warfare and mine warfare systems. Stanley also played a significant role in decision-making processes for submarine production and repurposing ballistic missile submarines.

After leaving the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2003, Robertson served as Commanding Officer of USS Nevada (SSBN-733)(Gold) from 2004 to 2006. Stanley then joined Submarine Squadron Seven as Deputy Commander from 2006 to 2009. In this role, they mentored submarine commanding officers and played a key role in overseeing all deployed submarine operations from the Western Pacific Ocean to the Suez Canal. Stanley also took on an additional assignment as the Chief of Staff for the Submarine Task Force Commander's Staff in Yokosuka, Japan.

From 2009 to 2012, Robertson served as Commodore for Submarine Squadron One. Following this, they joined the U.S. Navy Staff as OPNAV N2/N6 from 2012 to 2014. In this position, they oversaw maritime research and development technology projects involving manned and unmanned maritime platforms worldwide. Stanley also authored a functional solutions analysis to guide investment and policy in unmanned maritime technology.

Since 2015, Robertson has been working at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc as the Cross Domain Warfare Analysis Group Leader & Principal Analyst.

Stanley Robertson began their education in 1982 at Tufts University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering. Stanley successfully completed their undergraduate studies and graduated from Tufts University in 1986. After a gap of several years, Stanley returned to academia in 1997 and enrolled at The Catholic University of America. Stanley dedicated two years to pursuing a Master's Degree in Engineering Management, completing their studies at The Catholic University of America in 1999.
