Steve Russo has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Steve has worked as a Senior Program Analyst at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. since November 2019, supporting the Trident II D5 LE/LE2 Missile Programs. Prior to this, they served as an Operations Supervisor at Northrop Grumman from January 2017 to November 2019, leading and managing a team of Field Engineers specializing in Underwater Launching System. Steve also provided technical and operational support to the US/UK Trident SSBN, US SSGN fleets. Moreover, they worked as a Senior Security Analyst at JRC Integrated Systems from April 2016 to January 2017, providing security program policy and technical support to Navy Strategic Weapons Facilities. Before that, they were the Security Director at the Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic, from January 2014 to March 2016, overseeing the day-to-day security operations at the facility. Steve also has extensive experience in the US Navy, where they served as a Lieutenant Commander and Submarine Ordnance Officer, achieving the rank of Missile Technician Chief. Steve served on two SSBNs during their career. Additionally, they held various positions at the Director, Strategic Systems Programs, including Strategic Weapons Surety Fleet Liaison and Nuclear Safety Officer. Steve also served as an Officer in Charge at the Nuclear Weapons Inspection Detachment, Kings Bay, GA, and an Assistant Weapons Officer and Physical Security Officer at the Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic.

Steve Russo's education history begins in 1986 when they attended Tulane University School of Professional Advancement and obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Applied Business in 1988. Steve then enrolled at Excelsior University and completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Management/Administration from 2005 to 2008. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice/Protective Services/Homeland Security at Excelsior University, graduating in 2012. Additionally, Steve obtained several certifications throughout their career, including Certified Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspector from the US Navy Strategic Systems Programs in October 2007, DAWIA Program Manager - Level 1 from the Defense Acquisition University in March 2006, and Submarine Officer Warfare Certification (Gold Dolphins) from Commander, Submarine Forces | Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic in May 2004.
