Pranay Doshi

Electromechanical Engineer at Space Foundry

Pranay Doshi has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to 2019. In 2012, they worked as an Intern in the Transformer Control Design Department at Crompton Greaves. In 2013, they worked as an Intern at Reliance Energy Limited, where they maintained switch-gears, transformers, and control panels in more than 7 sub-stations. In 2017, they were a Student Employee Lead at Spartan Shops Inc. In 2018, they worked as an EME Field Technician at Sitesafe. In 2019, they worked at Space Foundry Inc. as an Electromechanical Engineer and a Control & Systems Engineer. As an Electromechanical Engineer, they designed and implemented new operating methods for processes, materials, and equipment used to test the flying Plasma Jet printer in microgravity (Zero G). Pranay also served as project manager and design engineer to create a new electrical system for microgravity flights, and was responsible for product monitoring to mitigate the risks while printing in Zero gravity. Pranay designed the fly-back transformer to generate plasma at more than 20 feet from the RF power source without causing too much loss and affecting the output power. As a Control & Systems Engineer, they designed PCB layouts for the control units bring used for manufacturing 3D Jet Plasma Printer, designed liquid, gas, plasma, environmental and safety control units for the printer, performed a quality control check on the printer before it shipped to the customer, and designed various 3D models using Autodesk Fusion 360 for research and development of the printer.

Pranay Doshi completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from San Jose State University between 2014 and 2019. Prior to that, they obtained an AA Degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians from Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic between 2010 and 2014. Pranay also attended ST. Francis D'assisi high school-Mumbai, India between 1998 and 2010. Additionally, they obtained a ARM university Program Basic Level Certificate in Embedded Systems and a Cypress Semiconductors University Alliance certificate in Internet of Things (IOT) in June 2017 from Summer Industrial Training in Embedded Systems and IoT by Eduvance.
