In 2050, an estimated 10 billion people will live in the world. SpACE Lab at ISU led by Prof. Dr. Vanessa Carlow stands for the opportunity to develop the knowledge and the motivation that will make it possible for our generation to initiate to set transformation processes in motion.

SpACE Lab, the Spatial Analytics & Crossdisciplinary Experimentation Lab, at ISU is a state of the art competence centre of urban research, linking architecture, urban design and planning with a multitude of other disciplines.

Focussing on the wellbeing and thriving of people and nature, we advance HUMAN CENTRED, EVIDENCE BASED planning and design for sustainable cities and urban regions.


ABOUT ISU: 
The ISU is a research-based think tank, design and planning lab at TU Braunschweig led by Prof. Dr. Vanessa Carlow. The diversity of the ISU team allows us to take a multi-perspective unconventional approach to research questions, teaching and knowledge transfer. In doing so, we are intensively engaged in the international discourse around sustainable urban design. As part of the core research area FUTURE CITY of the TU Braunschweig, we collaborate with scientists from a wide range of disciplines and cooperate with more than fifty cities and NGOs worldwide.
