Design Engineer at Space Structures

Gabriel Ramalho has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles.

Gabriel is currently working as a Design Engineer at Space Structures GmbH since 2022.

Prior to that, from 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Research Engineer at LSTS FEUP. During this time, they oversaw Project RaMP, developed maintenance protocols for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, implemented experiments on lasting missions, and created a machine learning pipeline using Python and TensorFlow. Gabriel also utilized CAD software to design support equipment for in-situ applications.

From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Research Engineer at GSCAR - COPPE | UFRJ, where they were involved in the development of robotics projects for the O&G industry, including the design, specification, and building/testing of prototypes.

In 2016, Gabriel worked as a Production Manager at Mude Wellness Media. Gabriel'sresponsibilities included designing and producing gym equipment, as well as reorganizing the factory floor and production line.

Gabriel also gained experience as a Summer Intern at Transcontrol Comércio e Indústria de Produtos Eletrônicos Ltda. in 2016.

Gabriel started their career in 2010 as a Researcher at GSCAR - COPPE | UFRJ. Gabriel was part of the mechanical engineering team working on the DORIS project, which involved the inspection and monitoring of offshore platforms. Gabriel was responsible for CAD designs, mechanical component specifications, prototype building/testing, and teaching new interns fabrication processes.

In 2014, they worked as a Research Engineer at FAPERJ - Arqueologia Online.

Overall, Gabriel has demonstrated expertise in research, design, prototyping, and project management within the engineering field.

Gabriel Ramalho has a strong educational background in Mechanical Engineering. Gabriel completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in the years 2010 to 2017. During their undergraduate studies, Gabriel also spent a year as an Exchange Student at Eindhoven University of Technology, where they focused on the study of Fabrication Processes.

Furthering their education, Gabriel went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from 2018 to 2019. Gabriel dedicated this period to enhancing their knowledge and skills in this field.

Currently, Gabriel is working towards earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. Gabriel'sdoctoral studies are anticipated to be completed by the year 2023.
