Tyler Kunsa

Vice President of Space & Defense Systems at Space Works

Tyler Kunsa has held multiple roles in the engineering field since 2012. In 2012, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Honeywell Vocollect, where they worked with Pro/Engineering Wildfire 4.0 and Creo 2.0 and learned Ansys 11. From 2013-2015, Tyler Kunsa was an Analysis Engineer at Curtiss-Wright Corporation. During this time, they analyzed manufacturing lifting fixtures for shear, bending, torsional, and thermal stresses; evaluated and generated design reports for cap screws in coolant pumps based on fatigue and shock failure; and generated reports in fracture mechanics and fatigue crack growth of lower bearing housing of pumps. In 2015, Tyler Kunsa joined Mainstream Engineering Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer, where they authored proposals resulting in $1.5+ Million of awarded Government contracts, managed project teams of Engineers, CAD contractors, and Purchasing, owned the system development lifecycle, and provided technical design direction on hardware, mechanical products, machine parts, and components for high-fidelity government systems. In 2020, Tyler Kunsa was appointed Vice President of Space & Defense Systems and Program Manager at SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI).

Tyler Kunsa obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. Tyler then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida in 2020. Prior to this, they attended Haverford Senior High School from 2006 to 2010. Tyler is currently enrolled in an Executive MBA program in Management of Technology at the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
