Kamel Houairi, PhD, is currently the Director of Earth Observation Space Systems Engineering at Space42, with over fifteen years of experience in optical and space systems. Previously, Kamel held various roles, including spacecraft technical advisor for the UAE Armed Forces and optical instrument architect at Thales Alenia Space. Kamel also contributed to significant projects as a Ph.D. candidate at ONERA and worked with leading research institutions such as the Space Telescope Science Institute and the Paris Observatory. Kamel holds a Master's degree in Condensed Matter and Plasma from École polytechnique and an Engineer's degree in Optics from Institut d'Optique Graduate School.
