Boucher is an entrepreneur, writer, editor, podcaster, publisher, explorer and bon vivant. He began work on his first Internet technology company in 1991 and hasn’t looked back since.
His first effort was SportsWorld BBS (1992), a bulletin board system. Some of you might remember those those ancient 2400/9600 baud modems using dial-in systems of the early 90’s. SportsWorld morphed into aTerra Technologies Corporation. After that he went on to create Maple Square Inc., Canada’s Internet Directory (1996), which he sold, then co-founded SpaceRef Interactive Inc. (1999).
He have also help build several non-profit organizations. These include the Mars Society (1998) where he built their online brand and served as a director in its infancy. He also helped found the Mars Society Canada (1998) before leaving both organizations in 2001. In 2002 Boucher co-founded the Mars Institute which is a non-profit research institute based at NASA Ames Research Park. More recently he helped co-found the Canadian Space Commerce Association (2007) and SpaceQ Media Inc. (2017).
Boucher is a member of International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Entrepreneurship and Investment Committee.
