Andras Tantos

Principal Architect at SpaceX

Andras Tantos is a highly experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and silicon architecture. Currently serving as a Principal Architect at SpaceX since January 2021, Andras previously held the role of Principal Silicon Architect at Microsoft, where contributions included performance analysis of AI hardware accelerators and developing a Python framework for neural networks. Prior to these roles, Andras worked at SpaceX as a Principal Electrical Engineer, overseeing the user terminal development and leading architectural decisions for complex ASIC designs. Andras also held positions as a Senior Electrical Engineer and Software Developer at Microsoft, working on projects such as the Hololens HPU chip and features for the Visual C++ IDE. Andras earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics from 1991 to 1996.
