Cory Schovanec

Sr. Launch Engineer

Cory Schovanec is a highly experienced engineer currently serving as a Senior Launch Engineer at SpaceX, focusing on Falcon and Starship launch pad engineering since September 2020. Prior to this role, Cory held several engineering positions at SpaceX, advancing from Launch Engineer to Launch Engineer II. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, along with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Southwestern University. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at Washington University, where Cory conducted CFD modeling of vertical axis wind turbine arrays, as well as internships at Parkhill, Smith & Cooper and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Cory has also contributed as a tutor for physics and mathematics at Texas Tech University and served in various supervisory roles at Southwestern University.
