Jaime Mateus

Jaime Mateus is a highly experienced professional in aerospace biomedical engineering, currently serving as Manager of Space Medicine and Medical Research Lead at SpaceX since April 2021. Additionally, Jaime holds an advisory role at NALA Systems Inc. and previously worked as a Technology Consultant at Aqua Membranes, Inc. and as CEO and Founder of Anfiro, which focused on innovative water treatment solutions. With a background in early-stage technology development at Flagship Ventures and consulting on human factors engineering at JM Analytics, Jaime has also contributed to academia as an instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and during various research roles, including postdoctoral work. Jaime earned a PhD in Aerospace Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, furthering expertise with a master's degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the same institution and a master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London.
