Justin Thompson

Justin Thompson is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience at SpaceX since 2012, currently serving as Director of Starship Launch Engineering. Previously, Justin held roles including Senior Manager of Starship Offshore Engineering and Senior Manager of Launch Engineering, leading teams responsible for infrastructure and support systems for Falcon 9 and Dragon launch operations. Prior to SpaceX, Justin worked at ERC, managing systems engineering for NASA's major programs, and served as a Senior Test Engineer developing the Orion spacecraft's parachute system. Earlier experience includes satellite systems engineering at Los Alamos National Laboratory, supporting Mars exploration instruments. Justin holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Mathematics from the University of Arkansas.
