Phillip Downey

Phillip Downey is an experienced Senior Structures Engineer at SpaceX, responsible for leading manufacturing engineering teams in support of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy projects. With a history of implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and safety, Phillip has significantly contributed to the stabilization of manufacturing processes and structural integration. Prior roles include positions at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, where leadership in rover design and mechanical research was demonstrated, as well as consulting and internship experiences in mechanical design at various companies, including FLIR Systems. Phillip holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
