Preston Hinkle

Preston Hinkle is a seasoned data professional with extensive experience in data engineering and applied science. Currently serving as a Senior Data Engineer at SpaceX since April 2022, Preston previously worked at Zillow for four years in various capacities, including Senior Applied Scientist. Preston completed a fellowship at Insight Data Science, developing 'shelfie', a web application for cataloging and pricing book collections. Additionally, Preston contributed to the UC Irvine Data Science Initiative as an instructor, leading workshops in data science and machine learning. Research experience includes conducting experimental biophysics at UC Irvine, where synthetic nanopores were a focus. Preston holds a PhD in Physics from UC Irvine and a BS in Physics from The Ohio State University.
