Scott Snider

Scott Snider has extensive experience in optical and mechanical engineering, holding positions at leading organizations such as SpaceX, MKS Instruments, and Newport Corporation. At SpaceX, Scott served as Lead Space Lasers Engineer, directing a team of engineers in the development and production of Starlink’s Inter-Satellite-Laser terminals, while previous roles involved significant contributions to optical systems design and production support. At MKS Instruments, Scott excelled as a Senior Optical Systems Engineer, managing various opto-electro-mechanical projects and achieving notable milestones such as the alignment of a first commercial prototype of a Fixed Length Optical Cavity for use at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Scott's educational background includes dual Bachelor's degrees in Optics/Optical Sciences and Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Davis.
