Sean Gates

Sean Gates, PhD, is a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at SpaceX, where they apply their expertise to advanced aerospace projects. Previously, they held positions as a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and as a Propulsion Engineer at SpaceX. Sean completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, where they also conducted graduate research in biophysics and laser spectroscopy. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Structural Designer at Miyasato Kuniyoshi Structural Engineers and as Student Research Staff at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
