Sean Owen

Sean Owen is a Senior Software Engineer at SpaceX since July 2018, previously serving as a Tech Lead at Google from November 2012 to June 2018, where management of the scheduling and auto-scaling team for App Engine occurred. Before Google, Sean was the Engineering Lead and Associate Counsel at OPOWER, leading the rate engine team and developing a unified platform for utility rate simulations. Sean's earlier experience includes working as an Attorney at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, LLP, focusing on patent litigation, and serving as a Software Architect for the relaunch of FOXSports.com at FOX Cable Networks. Sean was also a leader at Scient and an Engineer at Geoworks, specializing in mobile operating system software. Academic qualifications include a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
