Steven Kao

Steven Kao is a Starship Mechanisms Engineer with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. They have experience in various industries, including automotive, defense, and aerospace, and have held internships at companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center. Steven participated as a researcher in the UIUC PURE Research Program, conducting a CFD study for flood prediction and pollution management. They also led the development of an electric vehicle at Illini Motorsports, achieving notable recognition in vehicle dynamics.
