Niels van Eck

Niels van Eck has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the software engineering field. Niels most recently worked at SPAN, starting as a Senior Software Engineer and then moving to the position of Staff Software Engineer. Prior to this, they were a Software Consultant at smallstep where they developed a decoupled Stripe implementation and helped set up data reporting. Niels also had a significant tenure at Twitter, where they held roles such as Staff Software Engineer / Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead, working on projects related to scaling revenue processing and automating financial reporting. Niels began their career at Cooliris as a Web Development Engineer, responsible for developing and maintaining internal and customer-facing web properties. Before that, they worked at Tangoe, Inc. as a Software Engineer / Billing Management Team Lead, contributing to Telecom expense savings solutions. Additionally, Niels gained early experience as an Intern and Software Engineer at The Allied Group and Strategic Technologies Inc. respectively.

Niels van Eck attended CLV Veenendaal from 1991 to 1997, where they pursued a Havo degree. During this time, their field of study included English, Dutch, Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Economics. In 1997, they enrolled at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and completed their Bachelors degree in Hogere Informatica, Software Engineering in 2002. Niels also studied Software Engineering at Saxion University of Applied Sciences during the same period, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree in that field.
