Built through an interdisciplinary co-design process involving experts in museology, digital technologies, UX design, and software engineering, Span Library brings together all stages of the 3D object lifecycle within a single, integrated ecosystem. The platform enables rapid and accessible 3D digitisation, advanced collection management, and next-generation digital mediation.

Span Library allows institutions to create digital twins of fragile or inaccessible objects, reducing handling and logistical constraints while supporting long-term conservation. Its intuitive web-based interface makes it possible to organise collections, enrich objects with metadata, annotations, and measurements, compare conservation states over time, and securely share collections with internal teams, researchers, or external partners.

Beyond preservation, Span Library is a powerful tool for cultural valorisation and mediation. Institutions can create interactive narratives, virtual or hybrid exhibitions, integrate multimedia content, generate immersive videos for communication, and embed 3D object viewers directly on their websites. The platform also supports use cases such as 3D printing for mediation, replicas, or research.
