John Slocum is a seasoned professional in government affairs and legal counsel with a diverse background in state and federal legislative processes. Slocum began a career in public service as a Staff Attorney for the Illinois House of Representatives from November 2009 to September 2011, advancing to Senior Legal Counsel until March 2013. Subsequently, Slocum held various roles at Exelon, including Representative and Senior Manager of State Government Affairs, as well as Director and Vice President of Federal Government Affairs. After a stint at Constellation as Director of Federal Government Affairs, Slocum joined Sparkfund as Vice President of Government Relations & Public Affairs in February 2025. Slocum earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor from UIC John Marshall Law School.
