David Dowding has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. David currently works as a Developer at Sparkgeo since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Spatial Data Analyst at Geo Smart Decisions Ltd from June 2019 to October 2021.
Before their roles in the geospatial field, David was self-employed at Dowd.in, providing technical services as a freelance sound/visual/lighting technician at Stage Sound Services. Additionally, they created a database system to manage project registration for a charity, involving the allocation of projects to 1000 volunteers. This self-employment lasted from April 2011 to June 2019.
David also held positions at the University of South Wales, where they worked as a Senior Invigilator from May 2016 to May 2019, ensuring academic exam integrity, and as an Electronic Note Taker from September 2011 to May 2019, providing detailed notes for dyslexic and disabled students.
Prior to their time at the university, David worked at South Gloucestershire Council as a Project Support Officer from September 2007 to March 2011, and briefly as an Administrator in June 2007. David also has experience as a Business Associate at Coutts from December 2005 to May 2007 and as a temporary employee at Hays from September 2005 to December 2005.
David Dowding has a strong educational background in the field of technology. David obtained a Master's Degree in Geographic Information Technology from The Manchester Metropolitan University, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of England between 2001 and 2004.
Before pursuing higher education, David attended the Royal Latin School, where they completed their A-Levels in Maths, Physics, and Geography from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they also obtained their GCSE, including subjects like Maths and English, from the same school between 1995 and 1999.
In addition to their academic qualifications, David also holds certifications in various technology-related fields. David received the certifications of Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in December 2022, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate as well as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS), in November 2022 and June 2022 respectively.
