Rick Clements

Rick Clements is currently the VP of Finance at Spartan Bioscience. Rick has over 20 years of experience in the financial and operations sector, working with both public and private companies. Rick has a proven track record in increasing shareholder value, developing and executing growth strategies, and improving operational efficiencies.

Clements started their career as a controller at Fulcrum Technologies in 1996. Rick then became the Director of Business Finance at OpenText in 1998. In 2000, they took on the role of COO and CFO at InBusiness Solutions. Rick was instrumental in the company's public offering in 2003 and its subsequent acquisition by Brainhunter Systems Ltd. In 2006, Clements became the CFO of Klocwork, where they helped grow the company's revenue from $6 million to $24 million.

In 2008, they joined Kangaroo Media as the CFO and VP of Operations. Rick was responsible for leading the company through its successful IPO in 2009 and its subsequent acquisition by FanVision LLC. Rick then became the CFO of International Datacasting in 2011, where they helped grow the company's revenue from $50 million to $100 million.

Most recently, Clements has been with Spartan Bioscience since 2015. Rick has been instrumental in growing the company's revenue from $3 million to $30 million. Under their leadership, Spartan Bioscience has become a leader in portable DNA testing devices with customers in over 50 countries worldwide.

Rick Clements received their Bachelor of Arts in Chartered Accounting Studies and Economics from the University of Waterloo.

Their manager is Steve Edgett, CEO. They work with Sean Tomalty - Chief Operating Officer, Jeremy Bridge-Cook - Chief Scientific Officer & VP, R&D.
