Rob Day has a strong background in software engineering and has worked in a variety of roles and companies throughout their career. Rob started in 1990 at Lucent and AT&T Bell Laboratories, where they were a Member of Technical Staff and helped build AT&T Microelectronics' modem chip set business. Rob then moved on to Lucent Bell Laboratories, where they led a team that developed the 56K PCM modem chipset. At Globespan Virata, they served as a Technical Manager, leading a firmware team involved in validation and debugging of DSP engines for ADSL2 and VDSL. Rob continued their career as a Manager at Conexant, working on the development of VDSL2 chipsets. At Ikanos Communications, they served as a Principal Engineer and developed the next generation VDSL2 chip set with cross-talk cancellation. At Sparton Corporation, they worked for three years as a Principal Software Engineer, developing embedded firmware and signal processing algorithms for sonar and communications systems. Rob then moved to Lockheed Martin MFC, where they worked as a Software Engineer. Most recently, they returned to Sparton and is currently working in the role of Principal Software Engineer. Overall, Rob has a diverse set of skills and experience in embedded firmware development, algorithm optimization, and system performance tuning.
