Gary Johnson

Gary Johnson serves as the Director of Environmental Modeling and Software at Spatial Informatics Group, LLC since September 2014, also holding the role of Senior Scientist. With extensive expertise in wildfire modeling, ecosystem service modeling, geo-statistical data analysis, software development, and project management, Gary has contributed significantly to the field. Prior to the current position, Gary was a Director of Environmental Modeling and Software at the same company from September 2014 to January 2022, and previously worked as a Research Scientist from August 2011 to January 2014. Gary's career began with roles at the University of Vermont, including Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant, as well as at Kindle Farm Children's Service and Green River Data Analysis, LLC. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Vermont and a B.S. in Computer Science/Geoinformatics from Marlboro College.
