They served as a nuclear-trained submarine officer and later taught nuclear propulsion theory at the Navy's Nuclear Power School. With over 20 years of involvement in the KDE Free/Open Source Software project, Michael contributed to major software libraries and applications. Currently, they are an AI/ML Project Manager at Spear AI, focusing on maritime data management for defense customers. They hold a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies and two degrees in Computer Science.
