Heather Walker

Heather Walker has a strong background in data science and analytics. Heather is currently the Global Head of Data Science, Analytics & Visualisation at Specsavers, where they lead a team of data professionals and is responsible for driving the company's data-driven strategy. Prior to that, they worked at Wiggle as a Data Scientist, leading the development and deployment of predictive models for personalized marketing. Heather also has experience as a Senior Data Scientist & Econometrician at Carnival UK, where they used statistical models and machine learning to provide insights for marketing and product development. Before transitioning into industry, they worked as a Data Scientist at Path Intelligence, where they developed algorithms to track footfall and managed a team of Data Scientists. Heather started their career as a PHD student in Astrophysics at the University of Leeds, where they conducted cutting-edge research and contributed to peer-reviewed publications. Throughout their career, they have been recognized for their contributions to the field with various awards and acknowledgments.

Heather Walker has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from the University of Warwick and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Leeds. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in machine learning and deep learning from Coursera, such as the Deep Learning Specialization, Convolutional Neural Networks, and Image Understanding with TensorFlow on GCP, among others.
