The Spector Craft Prize is an annual initiative championing excellence in American craft. Founded in 2025 by Abigail Klem Spector and Warren Spector through the Spector Family Foundation, we support craft artists at pivotal moments in their careers—investing in those who will shape the future of American craft.

Our inaugural program launches at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in 2026, with future iterations planned at museums across the country.

Through three interconnected programs, we champion makers through awards, mentorship, and community building: 

I. The Spector Craft Prize 
An annual award honoring an established artist whose work defines excellence in American craft and who has demonstrated a commitment to furthering the field. 

II. The Spector Craft Prize for Emerging Artists 
A juried prize honoring five exceptional makers with seven years or less of studio practice. Awardees will receive a $10,000 financial award and integration into a vital network of craft professionals.

III. The Spector Craft Summit 
A transformative gathering connecting emerging and established voices through discussions, mentorship, and community-building, essential for sustaining careers in craft.
