Peter Strickler

Peter Strickler has extensive work experience in the medical device industry. Peter recently became the Director of Manufacturing at SpectraWAVE, Inc. starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at ConvaTec as a Lead Mechanical Engineer/Fellow from March 2021 to August 2022.

From 2018 to 2021, Peter worked at Philips where they held two roles. Peter was a Sr. Systems Engineer from June 2020 to March 2021 and a Senior Engineer and Team Leader from April 2018 to June 2020.

Before Philips, they were the Sr. Manager of Mechanical and Disposables Engineering at NinePoint Medical, Inc. from September 2014 to April 2018. Prior to that, Peter worked at InfraReDx from 2012 to 2014 as the Principal Mechanical Engineer/Manager of Mechanical Engineering. In this role, they were responsible for designing a flagship diagnostic catheter and spectrometer/ultrasound hardware.

From 2011 to 2012, Peter served as a Sr. Product Development Engineer at Thoratec, where they contributed to the development of the Heartmate 3 pocket pump controller.

Before that, they held various roles at InfraReDx from 2005 to 2010. Peter was the Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Group from June 2010 to December 2010 and the Principal Catheter Engineer from November 2005 to June 2010. In these positions, they led project teams, conducted research, and designed diagnostic catheters.

Peter's career began at Medtronic in 1997, where they worked as a Senior R&D Engineer and Senior Extrusion Engineer. Peter played a key role in designing a steerable ventricular tether delivery catheter system and managing production activities for guide catheter shafts.

Prior to Medtronic, they worked as an Extrusion R&D Engineer at Zeus Industrial Products from 1995 to 1997, and as an Engineer at JACO from 1992 to 1993.

Peter Strickler has a solid education background in engineering and architecture. Peter earned their bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, completing their studies between 1987 and 1991. Building upon this foundation, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Plastics Engineering from the same university, studying from 1993 to 1995. In recent years, Peter obtained a certificate in Architecture and Systems Engineering: Models and Methods to Manage Complex Systems from MIT xPRO. Peter successfully completed this program in 2020 after enrolling in 2019.
