Vel Guruswami

Vel Guruswami has over 30 years of work experience in the field of engineering and technical management. Vel is currently the Director of Engineering at Spectro Cloud since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Cisco Systems for 10 years starting in February 2013, where they held the position of Manager of Software Development Engineering. During their time at Cisco, Vel led customer escalation support and QA teams for Cisco's Cloudcenter product and also led QA and automation efforts for Cisco's Hybrid Cloud product - Intercloud Fabric. Before Cisco, Vel worked at Altierre as a Senior Technical Manager from October 2007 to January 2013. Vel was also a Technical Manager at Infoblox from September 2006 to October 2007, where they managed the platform/infrastructure team and was responsible for managing and delivering software releases on time and on-budget. Vel's earliest work experience was at net.com, where they worked as a Software Development Manager in the VOIP team for over 13 years. During their time at net.com, Vel delivered multiple releases of the VoIP Media Gateway product, which supported various protocols and interfaces for voice communication.

Vel Guruswami attended Anna University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Vel then pursued further education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 1989 to 1991, earning a Master's degree in Computer Science.
