David Johnson has a diverse work experience in engineering and manufacturing roles. David began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist for B1 Bombers. Following their military service, Johnson worked in various companies, including Hardware Resources/Progressive Stamping and Plating, Stemco LP, McKissick Products, Joy Global formerly LeTourneau Technologies, UOP Callidus, Ameristar Perimeter Security USA Inc., and Alfa Laval Inc., Air Cooled Exchangers. In these roles, they gained experience in lean manufacturing principles, process improvement, equipment design, and project management. Their expertise includes using SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software, facilitating kaizen events, and mentoring and training personnel. Johnson's most recent position is as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer at Spectrum Control, where they exhibit their skills in manufacturing engineering.
David Johnson has a diverse education history. David first pursued a Lean Systems Certification at the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, although the exact duration of this certification is unknown. Following that, in 1990, they attended Texas State Technical Institute/AeroTech International for an Airframe and Powerplant License. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1990, they studied Aeronautics Engineering and Technologies at the Community College of the Air Force. In 1997 and 1998, they obtained an AutoCAD Drafting Certificate from Kilgore College, specializing in AutoCAD Drafting and Design I and II.
David Johnson has acquired additional certifications to supplement their education. In 1990, they obtained an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License from Texas State Technical Institute/AeroTech International. Later, in 2008, they earned a TCV Lean Black Belt certification from TBM Consultants/EnPro Industries.
