Michael Naylor

Senior Principal Software Engineer at Spectrum Control

Michael Naylor has a strong background in engineering and software development. Michael is currently working as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at APITech since June 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as an Elec. Systems Engineer at Knorr Brake Company from September 2018 to July 2022. From November 2015 to April 2018, they served as a Systems Engineering / Project Manager at L3 Adaptive Methods, where they successfully developed proposals and cost estimates, and developed ISO compliant quality system processes. Before that, Michael worked as a Senior Engineer at Wabtec Railway Electronics from February 2011 to November 2015, where they designed and developed systems for locomotives and rail cars and participated in developing industry standards. Michael also worked as a Protocol SW Engineer at DRT, Inc from March 2009 to February 2011, where they completed software development projects and integrated Open Source LWIP stack. Additionally, Michael has experience as an Engineering Manager at NWI LLC (Start-Up), where they designed a portable Bluetooth enabled EM water velocity meter and conducted market research. Michael also worked as a Reliability Test Lab Manager at Airpax from May 2005 to June 2008, where they managed test lab activities and generated proposals for new equipment. Lastly, they started their career as an Engineering Technician at Marh-McBirney from April 1997 to March 2005, where they worked with electromagnetic and Doppler sensors and provided support to customers internationally.

Michael Naylor attended Frederick Community College from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Electronics Technology. From 2004 to 2008, they then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Hood College.
