EVP, CHRO at Charter Communications

Paul Marchand is the EVP, CHRO at Charter Communications. Prior to this, they were the Head of Human Resources at RiskMetrics Group from April 2000 to October 2000.

RiskMetrics Group was a spun off business of JPMorgan, focused on market and credit risk management utilizing a unique technology platform. Clients included Investment Banks, Retail Banks as well as Corporate Treasury Departments. RiskMetrics went public in 2008 and was then acquired by MCI in 2010.

As Head of Human Resources, Paul Marchand reported to the CEO and had global responsibility for Human Resources. Paul managed a team of 4 HR professionals, including an HR Generalist, a Recruiter, an HR Administrator, and an Admin Assistant. Paul's areas of accountability included compensation, staffing, employee relations, and office management.

Under Paul's leadership, the company implemented a new total rewards program with a shift from owner "shares" for all employees to a phantom stock option program. Paul also selected and managed a PEO firm to handle all back-office HR activities. Additionally, Paul oversaw the opening of three new office locations: Michigan (technology team), Brazil (sales office), and New Jersey (back office/accounting).

Paul Marchand has a Master of Science from Columbia University in the City of New York in Organizational Psy. Paul also has a Bachelor of Science from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in Advertising, Communications, Media. Lastly, they have a HS Diploma from Ardsley High School.

They are on a team with Rich DiGeronimo - EVP, Chief Product Officer, Magesh Srinivasan - EVP, Network Operations, and Michael Bair - EVP, Spectrum Networks. Paul Marchand reports to Thomas M. Rutledge, Chairman & CEO.
