Samuel Lo has a diverse work experience history. In 2017, they worked as a Student Assistant in the Department of English at City University of Hong Kong. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Materials Writer at 80/20 English. In 2018, they returned to City University of Hong Kong as a Student Assistant in the Department of Linguistics and Translation. In 2019, they worked as a Materials Editor (Cantonese) at LanguageBoost, and also as a Private Tutor. In 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant at Caritas Institute of Higher Education. From 2021 to 2022, they worked at Daxtra Technologies, first as a Junior NLP Applications Researcher/Developer and then as an NLP Applications Researcher/Developer. Currently, they are working as a Data Linguist at Speech Graphics.
Samuel Lo has a strong academic background and a focus on language and linguistics. Samuel recently completed their Master of Science degree in Speech and Language Processing from The University of Edinburgh in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Language Applications from City University of Hong Kong between 2016 and 2020. Samuel also had the opportunity to enhance their linguistic knowledge through a short-term study at Uppsala University in 2019. In 2017, they participated in the International Summer Course in Modern Icelandic at Háskóli Íslands.
In addition to their formal education, Samuel Lo is committed to continuous learning and professional development. Samuel recently obtained a certification in "PyTorch Essential Training: Deep Learning" from LinkedIn in June 2021. This certification highlights their dedication to staying current with relevant industry trends and technologies.

Based on over 20 years of R&D in speech technology and procedural facial dynamics, our software produces high-quality facial animation from audio alone, with no need for motioncapture. Speech Graphics spun out of the University of Edinburgh’s world-renowned School of Informatics in 2010 under the leadership of founders Michael Berger and Gregor Hofer, and game industry veteran Colin Macdonald.Speech Graphics has won several awards for its speech-driven animation technology, including the prestigious John Logie Baird Award for innovation, an LT-Innovate Award, a Santander Entrepreneurial Award, and game industry awards including a 2015 Develop Award for Best Creative Outsourcer and 2015 TIGA Award for Best Animation Supplier. The company has also received several development grants, including grants from Scottish Enterprise and the University of Abertay.
